'I was never lucky enough to be trained in art and its techniques but over the years I have taught myself, mainly by trial and error (mostly error and a lot of trial !)
Since my husband passed away 15 years ago, although I was still working I started to paint again. 5 years ago after retiring from the N.H.S. I had time to produce more work, inspired by the lovely countryside and sea where I live. After a while I joined the South East Open Studios and every year in June I open up my bungalow for the public to view my work.
Shortly afterwards I re-joined The Society of Eastbourne Artists, of which I was a member many years ago until life intervened, as it does. Doing this has enabled me to meet some really nice people, including Tracy Field, who kindly invited me to join The Worlington Movement and I have been honoured to accept.
I paint mainly in oil on linen, although water colour and gouache are used for botanical and bird paintings. To my surprise and delight my paintings have been recognized by receiving 5 awards in the last 2 years'.
